Four Chisinau International Airport employees suspected of having pandemic flu
Four more employees of a checkpoint of the Chisinau International Airport were taken Monday to the infectious diseases hospital “Toma Ciorba”, suspected that they got infected with the A (H1N1) flu virus.
Coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Station Anatol Proca has told Info-Prim Neo that the call was made by employees of the airport’s medical point. They asked for an ambulance to transport two persons suspected of having the virus from the airport and two persons from their places. The four came into contact with the 27-year-old customs officer, who was diagnosed with the A (H1N1) flu virus last week.
On Monday, specialized ambulances took three more persons suspected of having the flu virus to “Toma Ciorba” hospital. They included a 9-year-old girl who has recently returned from Romania.
Sixty suspect A (H1N1) flu virus cases have been reported in Moldova until August 24. The virus was detected in eight persons, who received antiviral treatment.
