Vlad Plahotniuc’s foundation “Edelweiss” will offer by 40,000 lei to the victims of the apartment building blast. Representatives of the foundation will get in touch with the families and the authorities to also agree other support measures, depending on the needs.

“I regret a lot the tragedy that occurred in Râșcani district. I offer my condolences to the families and relatives of those who died in the explosion and wish health and strength to those who were injured so that they recover swiftly. However, beyond our solidarity thoughts, the people who suffered as a result of this tragedy need concrete aid,” the president of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc wrote on a social networking site.

Four persons, one of whom a child, died in the October 6 blast. A 33-year-old woman, in whose apartment the blast occurred, remains in the Intensive Care Section of the Emergency Medicine Institute. A fireman hurt during the rescue operation, a woman with a head injury and a person with a posttraumatic stress disorder are also in the hospital.
