Forty-eight radio and television channels take part in contest announced by BCC

A number of 48 competitors will participate in the contest for frequencies announced by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC). Thirty-three of them apply for 33 radio frequencies and 15 for television channels. On July 31, the Council announced a contest for 41 radio frequencies and 75 TV channels. Three radio networks and a television network belonging to the state-owned enterprise “Radiocommunications” were also put up for contest. Fourteen contenders apply for the radio frequency 90.5 MHz Balti, ten for the frequency 88.0 MHz Chisinau, by seven for the frequencies 92.3 MHz Cahul and 92.6 MHz Cahul. By three-four applicants compete for the television channels 39 in Ungheni, 48 in Cahul, 51 in Chisinau and 55 in Comrat. A new radio station, Telemedia, asks for 15 radio frequencies. The radio station Vocea Basarabiei applies for 11 frequencies, Radio Plai and Radio 7 for nine frequencies each, Radio Sanatatea, Europa Plus and Scaparici for eight frequencies each. TV Dixi wants 32 television channels, Star TV – 15 frequencies, Mega TV – 12, Euro TV Chisinau – 10, Pro TV Chisinau – 7, etc. The contest results will be announced at the end of September. The deadline for applications was September 10.
