The chairman of the Committee of Inquiry for the elucidation of the factual and legal circumstances regarding the attempt of unconstitutional coup made by the Democratic Party, the MP Mihai Popșoi, says that the ex-prosecutor general Eduard Harunjen denies that criminal cases have been started against MPs who voted for Sandu government. The specifications have been made after the committee hearings, IPN reports.
According to Mihai Popșoi, the hearings were also attended by the director of Moldpres, Andrei Volentir, the director of Teleradio-Moldova, Ecaterina Stratan, and the former first deputy chief of the Inspectorate General of Carabinieri, Mihail Ciubaciuc. The chair of the Prosecutors' Association, Alexandru Cladco, and the former deputy head of the Inspectorate General of Police, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, who were on business trips, did not attend the hearings and asked to be rescheduled. Former SPPS interim director Anatolie Golea provided a written explanation.
Mihai Popșoi also said that Mihail Ciubaciuc told who and how asked him to obey Alexandru Jizdan (interior minister of the PDM government) and not minister Andrei Nastase. Ecaterina Stratan stated that, although she had the editorial control over the policy of Moldova 1TV station, she felt the need to consult the Board of Directors when the request to address the citizens during that period came from President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Maia Sandu.
According to Mihai Popșoi, all the details regarding these statements will be presented in the report of the inquiry committee. Most likely, the next meeting will take place in two weeks. Representatives of the former government and former members of the Constitutional Court will be invited.
