Former Member of the European Parliament appointed director of the National Institute of Justice

The National Institute of Justice has a new director: Ramona Victoria Strugariu, a Romanian politician and former Member of the European Parliament, IPN reports.

The INJ announced that applications were submitted by lawyer Natalia Balaban, former member of the Parliament Ramona Victoria Strugariu, and former Deputy Minister of Justice Anatolie Munteanu, with the latter withdrawing from the competition.

On Friday, the interview stage took place, during which Natalia Balaban also withdrew from the competition.

“After deliberation, by majority vote, it was decided that Ms. Ramona Victoria Strugariu will assume the position of Director of the National Institute of Justice,” the press release states.

Ramona Victoria Strugariu holds a law degree and a master’s degree in European law. She was elected as a Member of the European Parliament for the 2019-2024 term. She is also the co-president of the REPER Party in Romania, as indicated on the party’s official page.
