During the past half a year, the Chisinau City Hall took no step to construct the North Bus Station, Minister of Transport and Road Administration Vasile Ursu, former interim Mayor of Chisinau, said at the Government’s meeting. According to the Government’s press service, the minister said that as beneficiary of this facility, the City Hall did not put to good use the 2 mln lei planned in the state budget for 2007 for building the North Station. Vasile Ursu stated that the designing of the station and of the infrastructure was completed. Under the worked out project, the North Station will serve about 850 international and interurban routes. Under an order by Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, the Ministry of Transport and Road Administration was designated as general contractor of the construction project of the North Station. An Administration Board headed by the Minister of Transport and Road Administration will monitor and coordinate the implementation of the project. Within ten days, the Board will re-examine the plan of action for putting the project into practice and will update it. The Ministry will report to the Government on the implementation of the construction project each month.
