French politician and writer Dominique de Villepin, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Premier of France in 2005-2007 will arrive in Chisinau on October 6 to take part in the official opening of the Moldova Business People Association (AOAM), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Association’s Public Relations Service. On the first day of the visit, Dominique de Villepin will have discussions with the Association’s administration and a working meeting with AOAM chairman Vlad Plahotniuc. The meeting will focus on the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the national and European businesses given the European Union’s readiness to support Moldova on the path to European integration. On Thursday, October 7, Dominique de Villepin will take part in the official launch of the AOAM and deliver speeches in the two sessions of the international business forum. The Moldova Business People Association is a nongovernmental, apolitical, nonprofit organization that aims to improve the business environment and support the entrepreneurial spirit for a sustainable economic development in Moldova, in accordance with the EU values. Founded by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc, it brings together Moldovan business people, including famous persons with a rich experience and knowledge of national and international business practices. The main objectives of the Association are based on three directions: legislative initiatives for optimizing the normative framework; promotion of Moldova's image abroad and attraction of foreign investments; programs to support the SME sector, and building of an efficient business and investment environment.
