Former Deputy Prime Minister about country’s administration

Moldova is managed not by the President, Parliament or the Government, but by two oligarchic businessmen, former Deputy Prime Minister Nicolae Andronic said in the program “Public eye” on Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.

According to Andronic, these oligarchs earned money illegally. They robbed and continue to rob the country, while the three powers in the state are not independent and are at their beck and call.

“Now they want to take again power so as to be able to steal further. I possess information that the parties managed by them will spend more than the allowed €30 million for this autumn’s elections. They gained money from leasing out the airport, from Banca de Economii and from Europeans’ grants. The West should carry out an audit and would definitely discover that a part of the money offered to our country was misused,” stated Nicolae Andronic.

He noted that he is for the integration into the EU, but fears that the external development course may be changed after the elections. “I want Moldova to have a European future. But the undone things, the thefts and corruption disappointed the people,” said the politician.

Nicolae Andronic was a member of Moldova’s Parliament between 1990 and 1998 and served as Deputy Prime Minister in the Sturza Government. Currently, he is a member of the Republican People’s Party of which businessman Renato Usayi also formed part for a period. In the program on N4 channel, Andronic said that his party will not take part in this year’s elections and intends to gradually withdraw from politics.
