A number of 2,650 former deportees and political prisoners will receive lump sum payments from the Chisinau City Hall. Each of those entitled will get by 700 lei on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the harshest wave of Stalinist deportations that is marked on July 6, IPN reports.

The assistance will be provided based on the lists presented by the bodies of the central public administration empowered to set pensions and of the lists submitted by the Social-Humanitarian and Interethnic Relations Division of the Chisinau City Hall.

A sum of 1.8 million lei was allocated from the municipal social support fund for the purpose.
