A man from Chisinau was arrested on suspicion that he forged and sold permits and season tickets for travelling by trolleybus. He was to take by 150 lei per permit from clients, IPN reports.
The Chisinau Police Division said that when the 41-year-old suspect was arrested, he had a bag with permits for pensioners and war veterans and season tickets for trips by urban public transport on him. The man told the police that he took the permits and tickets from a person and was to sell them. At his place, the police found more such permits and ink for printing them.
The man faces a fine of 4,000 to 12,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to five years in jail.
Contacted by phone by IPN, the head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Division Gheorghe Morgoci said the losses sustained as a result of the use of one forged season ticket for traveling by trolleybus a year amount to at least 500 lei, if the holder makes only two trips a day. If the holder makes more trips, the annual losses rise to over 1,000 lei. The price of a season ticket is 180 lei a month.
