More than 20,000 hectares of forests in Strășeni, Hâncești and Călărași will be sprayed against pests in the second half of April and in the first half of May. In a press release, the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” said the used chemicals are not dangerous for humans, IPN reports.
The farmers in the areas where the forests will be sprayed are warned to close the bees in the period or to relocate the beehives at a distance of 10 km. It is banned pasturing domestic animals in those areas, while the population is recommended to refrain from picking up mushrooms or resting in the forest in the period.
In Hâncești district, there will be chemically treated the wooded areas situated near Hâncești town and the villages of Mereșeni, Sărata-Galbenă, Caracui, Mereni, Albița, Dubovca, Bozieni, Sărata-Mereșeni, Fundul Galbenei, Rusca, Anini, Șipoteni, Stolniceni, Negrea, Lăpușna, Bălceana, and Logănești.
In Strășeni district, there will be sprayed the forests located near Strășeni town and the villages of Căpriana, Pănășești, Scoreni, Cojușna, Condrița, Malcoci, Făgureni, and Voinova.
The wooded areas near the villages of Onești, Gălești, Pitușca, Vărzărești and Păulești will be treated in Călărași district.
