The police arrested two suspects in the case of the murder committed in Edinet district at the beginning of May. A woman forester working in a village of the district was killed and then burned in her house in the forest, IPN reports.
Deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc told a news conference that the woman was hit with a hard object. Afterward, her body was fragmented and burned.
The suspects, two men in their 30s, knew the victim very well. These admitted that initially they wanted to bury the body in the forest, but then decided to set fire to the house with the victim inside because there were traces of blood everywhere.
One of the suspects, who knew that the woman was in conflict with officials of the Edinet Forest Company, suggested leaving the victim’s car near this company so as to confuse the investigators. The car was found at a distance of 20 km of the victim’s home. It was also burned.
The suspects said they committed the murder because they wanted to come into possession of the victim’s money. The woman, who knew that she was suffering from an incurable disease, had lately sold cattle and possessions.
The case was sent to court.
