Universities from ten countries will present their offers at the second Moldovan International Education Fair (MIEF) that will take place in Chisinau on March 20 and 21. The universities will provide information about the tuition fees, financing possibilities, available programs and the admission process. The event is staged with the support of the European Union through the program “Study in Europe”.
In a news conference at IPN, MIEF project coordinator Terentie Carp said the event has its roots over the Prut River and has an experience of 15 fairs mounted during 11 years, which involved over 150 exhibitors from 20 countries. More than 15,000 people visit annually this event. The number of Moldovan students interested in offers to study abroad is on the rise. The first fair last year was visited by about 1,500 persons. About 3,000 young people already confirmed online their participation in this year’s event.
“We are glad that we have a very large number of online registrations for participating in the event. Chisinau turned out to be the most active city of those that are hosting the international educational tour this year. Furthermore, the EU will also present its education opportunities. Our expectations are two times greater than last year. It is hard to calculate how many universities will present offers as the exhibitors can display more offers,” stated Terentie Carp.
PR manager of the MIEF project Ana Zatushevschi said the EU’s stand “Study in Europe” will provide details about Erasmus+ through which the young people can benefit from education programs, training seminars and experience exchanges in other countries.
Mariana Gurghis, who received an Erasmus+ scholarship to study in Spain for a month, said this program allows knowing new cultures and mentalities and this gives a wide variety of emotions. “I urge those who intend to apply to Erasmus to do it faster because they will get a lot of positive emotions and unique experiences and will feel the need to do something more. The emptions offered by this program divide life into periods before and after the lived experiences,” she stated.
After the offers presented at the first Moldovan International Education Fair, about 200 Moldovan students went to study abroad on a scholarship. The main destinations are the universities in Greece, Switzerland and the UK.
Entrance to the fair is free of charge.
