A mission from abroad will supervise the administration of justice in Moldova, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat said in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“We agreed this with the alliance partners. We already implemented the first legislation amendment stage and will now move to a new stage – ensuring of functional justice, including by instituting supervision instruments. This mission will not intervene in the administration of justice. It will rather monitor things so that they go right,” said Vlad Filat.
He stated that together with Marian Lupu and Mihai Ghimpu, they had a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirrka Tapiola and agreed on the mission. “Besides political will and the supervision of the foreign partners, there is one more decisive element – the people, who no longer tolerate the situation and are very disappointed,” said the leader of the PLDM.
He also said that the bill on the prosecution service will undergo essential changes. “This bill will be modified before it is put to the vote in the second reading. The fact that it was approved by the Venice Commission does not mean that we must leave it in this forum,” he noted.
As to the National Anticorruption Center, Vlad Filat said the institution must be depoliticized and needs legal instruments to fight corruption. “The Center must not have a political color. The idea that the fight against corruption must be aimed at one party should be abandoned,” he stated.
