Foreign Ministry provides details about Paris attacks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that in connection with the recent deadly attacks in the capital of France, the Embassy of Moldova in Paris took steps to find out if the victims include Moldovan citizens. Verification measures are under way, IPN reports.

The Ministry warns the Moldovans who are in France, cross the territory of this country or travel to it that French President François Hollande announced a state of emergency and a subsequent temporary closure of the borders of France, while the Paris Police Prefecture recommended staying at home during the next few hours.

The Ministry calls on the Moldovans who are in the region of Paris to respect the safety warnings issued by the French authorities and to contact the Embassy of Moldova in Paris in case of emergency on +33 140 67 11 20 and through the email paris@mfa.md, or the Ministry’s Call Center on +373 22 788 722.

A series of violent shootings and explosions took place in Paris on the evening of November 13 and in the early hours of November 14. Two explosions occurred at the Stade de France in the northern suburb of Saint-Denis during the match between France and Germany, which was attended by the French President. At least three separate explosions and six shootings were reported around the city, along with a siege and mass shooting at the Bataclan theatre. Over 150 people are reported to have died, including at least 110 at the theatre. No one claimed yet the attacks.
