Foreign Ministry indignant it wasn’t informed about Rogozin’s visit

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration expressed its indignation at the fact that it wasn’t informed about the visit of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin. The issue was discussed by Deputy Foreign Minster Valeriu Chiveri with Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Muhametshin, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry's press service, Valeriu Chiveri noted that the Moldovan side hasn’t been yet informed about the visit of the Russian official and asked that the diplomatic customs concerning the organization of such visits be respected. Given the sensitivity of the subject and the evolution of the situation in the Transnistrian region, the Deputy Foreign Minister asked the Russian side to treat the organization of such visits in Moldova with maximum responsibility.

The Russian diplomat said the Embassy will furnish the Foreign Ministry with details about the visit after a confirmation is received from the Russian authorities.

In an interview for Publika TV channel, the ambassador said that Dmitri Rogozin will come to Chisinau on May 9 and will then go to the Transnistrian region. In Tiraspol, he will meet with veterans and will then inspect the social facilities. The program hasn’t been yet agreed.

The Transnistrian press reported that on May 9, Dmitri Rogozin will visit the region and will take part in the Victory Day parade. Last year on May 9, he was in Chisinau. His visit then aroused controversy.
