In connection with the preparations made by Transnistrian authorities for the May 9 parade that is to involve a military contingent of the Operational Group of Russia Forces, as the local press reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration reacted, saying it disapproves of the attitude of the military command of these Forces. The Ministry calls on the Russian authorities to refrain from military activities that defy the constitutionality of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The Ministry warns about the risks implied by the co-participation by the Operational Group of Russia Forces in military activities to the Transnistrian settlement process and to the process of building confidence between the two sides of the Nistru. According to the Ministry, such actions flagrantly undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. But the Russian administration openly and univocally pronounced in favor of respecting these principles not only once.

The Ministry reiterates the Moldovan authorities’ position concerning the necessity of pulling out the Russian military troops and munitions from the country’s territory.
