Foreign Ministry convokes partners of 5+2 talks in connection with Varnița case

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on January 31 will invite representatives of the partners of the 5+2 talks for a meeting at its head office. The representative of the OSCE Chairmanship in Office will also attend the meeting where there will be presented the Moldovan Government’s position on the recent case that happened in Varnița village. The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovski, IPN reports.

Also today, Moldova’s representative at the OSCE Victor Osipov will present a statement at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna. “This way, it will be opportune for the partners to also pronounce on these actions and to express their concerns, on the one hand, and to also encourage, including the Russian Federation, not to commit such acts, on the other hand,” Tudor Ulianovski stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel.

The minister said Varnița represents Moldova’s territory and this thing is clear and is internationally recognized. Tudor Ulianovski noted he would not like to see provocative attempts before the elections in these actions. “We will act promptly, pragmatically and in cooperation with the international partners,” stated the minister.

On January 25, the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski signed a so-called decision saying that Varnița village is temporarily under the Republic of Moldova’s control and the relevant duties are carried out by the self-styled local bodies of Proteagailovca village.
