Foreign direct investment into Moldova rose 1.8 times

The foreign direct investment into the Moldovan economy in the first half of this year increased 1.8 times compared with the corresponding period last year, to $362.2 million, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bank of Moldova. The foreign direct investment, taking into account the outflows of capital from Moldova, rose 1.7 times in this period, to $307.7 million. Investments into the companies’ registered capital and the profit reinvested over January-June 2008 came to $208.51 million, up 1.9 times. The loans offered by central companies to branches rose 1.5 times to $99.19 million. According to the National Bank of Moldova, the direct investment into Moldova’s economy totaled $2.197,81 billion late in June.
