Foreign direct investment in Moldova will reach $600-650m at yearend, Economy Minister says

The foreign direct investment (FDI) in Moldova’s economy will come to $600-650 million at the end of this year, said the Minister of Economy and Trade and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon quoted by the Economy Ministry’s press service. The FDI last year totaled $500 million, Info-Prim Neo reports. At a meeting with Patrick Arbor, the president of the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), Igor Dodon said that the FDI in Moldova rise continuously. According to Patrick Arbor, the Western NIS Enterprise Fund plans to increase its investments in Moldova. The Fund invests capital of $1 to $10 million in companies in Moldova and Ukraine. WNISEF has so far invested about $37 million in eight companies in Moldova, including Glass Container Company, FinComBank, Natur Barvo Cannery, ProCredit Moldova, Moldova-Agroindbank, Efes Vitanta.
