In July, the net supply of foregn currencies from individuals covered only 89.8% of the net demand from businesses, compared to 103.8% in June, the National Bank of Moldova reported.
Compared to the previous month, the net supply of foreign currencies from individuals increased by $75.3 million (+25.9%), while the net demand from businesses increased by $127.6 million (+45.6%).
During the reporting month, the NBM did not intervene on the domestic exchange market.
In July, the Moldovan leu depreciated insignificantly against the US dollar, reaching 17.7930 USD/MDL, compared to 17.7916 USD/MDL in June.
As of late July, the leu gained 1.1% on the US dollar.
