Foreign Affairs Ministry provides details about Poland road accident

Two Moldovans died in the road accident in Poland. Another two citizens of the Republic of Moldova were rushed to the hospital for medical care, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has said. Through the agency of Moldova’s Embassy in Warsaw, the Ministry requested to verify the information about the accident, IPN reports.

The accident occurred on the S8 highway close to Żabikowo Rządowe village in Podlasia Voivodeship. “According to the Polish authorities, the accident occurred on Monday afternoon. A truck hit a minibus registered in the Republic of Moldova with six persons aboard – five Moldovan citizens and a citizen of Ukraine. As a result of the impact, two persons, Moldovan citizens, died on the spot. Another two Moldovans were admitted to the hospital for medical care, while a Moldovan citizen didn’t suffer injuries and has been discharged,” the Ministry noted in a press release.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Warsaw keeps in touch with the local authorities for providing consular assistance.

The Polish press reported that the minibus was parked with the emergency warning lights on. Two persons died, while another four occupants of the minibus suffered injuries when the vehicle was hit by a truck.
