For the second consecutive day, the Transnistrian region requests maximum gas volume

For the second day in a row, the Transnistrian region has requested and received three million cubic meters of gas for February 7, funded through a grant from the European Union, IPN reports.

According to Energocom, this volume represents the maximum amount permitted by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, ensuring that consumers in the eastern districts receive European-sourced gas.

Between February 1 and February 7, Energocom purchased 17.2 million cubic meters of gas from regional exchanges and supplied it to the national network, following requests from Tiraspoltransgaz.

To cover gas purchases for consumers on the left bank of the Nistru River, the European Union has allocated €20 million from a €30 million grant provided to Moldova in response to the energy crisis. According to the Ministry of Energy, part of this funding is also being used to keep one unit of MGRES operational until February 10.
