For the first time, our country will host next year's European Judo Championship for athletes under the age of 23. The decision was officially announced on the occasion of this year's edition of the U-23 European Championships in Pila, Poland, IPN reports.
At the end of the continental competition, the president of the Moldovan Judo Federation, Andrei Golban, was handed the flag of the European Judo Federation (EJU).
"I am happy that we have been given the chance to organize this large-scale continental event and I hope that we will be able to hold it at the highest level. It is a chance to motivate all the children in our country to start practicing judo", said Andrei Golban, quoted in a press release of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The organization of the European U-23 judo championship in Moldova will be possible with the financial support of the MEC.
