“For Moldova” suggests increasing salaries of health workers by 40%

The members of the parliamentary platform “For Moldova”, which includes the MPs of the Shor Party, propose raising the salaries of the employees of the public health system by 40% as of July 1, 2021, IPN reports.

According to “For Moldova” MP Ruxanda Glavan, they drafted a bill that enables to increase the salaries of all the health workers of the public system – medical, administrative, ancillary personnel, including accountants, economists who were forgotten or omitted.

Ruxanda Glavan noted the financial resources identified for implementing the bill are enough to increase the salaries of about 45,000 health workers. A sum of 685 million lei is needed for covering the associated costs. This money is available in the accounts of the National Health Insurance Company. The balance in these accounts totals 686 million lei and is sufficient to raise the salaries of health workers as from July 1.

The MP said they expected the current political crisis to end together with the voting in of a government that would have undertaken to implement such a measure, but they hope the bill will be supported by all the MPs who assert they want to help the health system. “For Moldova” will ask Parliament to examine this bill as a matter of urgency.
