For first time extraparliamentary parties have chance to enter Parliament, analyst

Moldova is now in a completely new situation, after 20 years of development. New political forces are able to enter Parliament, both from the right and left wings, political analyst Nicolae Negru said in the public debate “Priorities of the political class and Moldovan society in an electoral year. Position of the opposition”, which was staged by INP Agency in cooperation with Radio Moldova.

“The people in Moldova, according to polls, got tired of the same parties that enter Parliament. 30% of the voters are undecided. This offers a new chance to the parties that appear or are on the political arena,” said Nicolae Negru, adding that many new forces came to power in Europe after being marginal or right after being founded.

The analyst recommended the extraparliamentary parties to be always active, not only in election campaigns, and to explain their priorities and role in building Moldova’s future. “The political class starts to change. The people put the new parties on trial and the parties should do something to achieve results. In our conditions, it is important that these parties have a charismatic leader who is popular and can fight the mafia,” he stated.

The public debate “Priorities of the political class and Moldovan society in an electoral year. Position of the opposition” is the 26th of the series “Development of political culture by public debates”, which are supported by the German foundation Hanns Seidel.
