Food safety watchdog bans import of 26 tonnes of fish infected with parasites

The National Food Safety Agency identified 26 tonnes of fish infected with parasites at the Giurgiulești border control post, IPN reports.

“In order to ensure the specific hygiene rules concerning food products of animal origin are obeyed, the Agency issued a return certificate and banned the importation of the noncompliant lot into the Republic of Moldova,” the institution noted in a press release.

The persons who detect noncompliant food products or deviations from the legislation on consumer protection are asked to submit a petition to the National Food Safety Agency through the e-mail address sesizare@ansa.gov.md, on the phone number 0 22 26 46 43, on the Green Line 0 800 800 33, or through Viber/WhatsApp/Telegram: 067675544.
