The population is urged not to buy food products sold on the street, near markets as these are kept in insanitary conditions, at inappropriate temperatures and are not subject to tests. The subject was discussed in the June 12 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.
Chisinau Police Division deputy head Silviu Musuc said the number of street vendors increases in the period. The police in the course of last week tried to convince these traders to go and sell their merchandise in the market, but these refuse because the products there are examined by the competent services.
The authorities warn the population about the risk of being poisoned by products bought from street vendors. Besides, when purchasing products from street vendors, the people encourage this type of trade, which is especially dangerous in hot weather.
Deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu warned that persons started to sell food products out on Gagarin Blvd and requested to take the required measures.
