The residents of Chisinau and representatives of public associations, housing sector managers and business entities are invited to take party in a foliage gathering event in the yards of apartment buildings and blocks they manage or where they work on November 10, between 10am and 12 noon.

Vasile Efros, head of the Cleanup Section of the Public Amenities Division of Chisinau, has told IPN that the participants in the event will be provided with units of transport for collecting the gathered leaves, such as tractors and trucks, and with sacks for storing household waste thrown onto the leaves. To benefit from such assistance, the residents are urged to call the district head’s office or the heads of dwellers associations.

Vasile Efros also said the event is aimed at making the citizens more responsible so that they realize they are responsible for the area near their house and office. Moreover, when they become involved in cleanup campaigns in yards, they intervene when someone throws litter in unauthorized places.

The companies are also invited to become involved in the planned event so that the leaves gathered on the territory they manage are collected. The recently bought leaf vacuum machines will be used both in yards and on the streets. The leaves will be taken to the waste dump in Pruncul.

The initiative groups are asked to announce their participation in the event beforehand so that they could be provided with units of transport. Requests can be made on the phone numbers 022-20-16-48 and 060277322. The City Hall said 32 public associations and business entities, over 600 persons overall, announced their participation so far.
