Heavy fog this morning caused a chain reaction of flight delays at the Chisinau International Airport. Passengers are asked to consult the updated flight schedule on the website airport.md, IPN reports.

The airline Air Moldova said in a press release that due to weather conditions this morning, the 4:20 Antalya flight had to be delayed and took off at 6:40 instead. Arriving in Chisinau, the plane was still unable to land and was diverted to Odessa for refueling.

The Frankfurt flight could not land as well and was diverted to Iasi to wait for favorable landing time in Chisinau.

It was earlier reported that Independence Day festivities were late to start as the visiting presidents of Ukraine and Romania could not land as scheduled because of heavy fog conditions.
