The number of flu cases in Moldova is decreasing and, according to specialists, the epidemiological situation is stable. The head of Viral and Upper Respiratory Infections Laboratory at the National Scientific-Practical Center of Preventive Medicine, Petru Scoferta, told Info-Prim Neo that in the ninth week of 2011, there were registered 666 flu cases, by 115 fewer than the previous week. Asked to forecast the situation, the lab chief said things were stable, but people should consume products rich in vitamin C (lemon, black or red currants) and with antimicrobial properties (onion, garlic). Since the beginning of 2011 until March 10, in Moldova have been registered 3700 flu cases and 85,400 upper respiratory infections. Five persons died because of flu complications.
