Flower market from Calea Basarabiei St will be moved to Carbunarilor St

The wholesale flower market situated on Calea Basarabiei St in Chisinau will be moved to Carbunarilor St, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca informed in the March 26 meeting of City Hall officials. “We want to better organize trade in the municipality of Chisinau. We raised such problems as the kiosks, markets, unauthorized trade, the secondhand clothes markets and others. The wholesale flower market based on Calea Basarabiei St is illegal,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. He also said that they received complaints about illegalities committed at the ad hoc markets. As the Central Market has a large subdivision on Carbunarilor St, it was decided to move the wholesale flower market there. The trade in building materials along the Byk River may be banned. “We took a decision as regards the flower market, but are yet to hold discussions to reach a decision as regards the trucks staying there,” said the mayor. Central Market director Ion Stratulat said the taxes at the market located on Carbunarilor St are the same as at the Central Market – 14 to 27 lei, depending on the area occupied by the traders.
