A craftspeople’s Flower Fair will be staged in the square of the Triumphal Arch in central Chisinau on April 16-17. Visitors are awaited from 10am until 6pm, IPN reports, with reference to the Chisinau City Hall.

Items in the square of the Triumphal Arch will be exhibited by craftspeople of the National Center for the Conservation and Promotion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

In the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”, on the alley situated on Al. Pushkin St, craftspeople of the Union of Craftspeople of Moldova will set up their stands. The goal of the fair is to promote and popularize the Easter customs and traditions.

Palm Sunday is observed this Sunday, one week before Easter. The feast day celebrates the triumphal entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem and the joy of those who laid down capes, cut branches of palm trees and shook them in order to welcome him.
