The deputy head of the Florești General Education Division Larisa Novac accuses the district authorities of taking political revenge on her as these took a decision to liquidate her post on January 30. The woman said she held this post for six years after being elected at a contest. Contacted by IPN for a comment, the head of Florești district Ștefan Paniș denied any political involvement, saying the decision was taken as a result of debates that covered all the divisions of the District Council, IPN reports.
In a news conference held alongside members of the Action and Solidarity Party, Larisa Novac said the liquidation of the post was proposed in order to institute another post at the Agriculture and Food Division as this area seems more important for the district authorities than education.
The woman noted the standard regulations on the functioning of the local education bodies were violated as these provide that the post of deputy head must exist. “This is revenge taken on me because I do not support what they are doing there, because I do not allow and do not tolerate corruption, and, what is most important, because I do not share the political views of those who manage Florești district,” stated Larisa Novac.
PAS vice president Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, ex-minister of education, culture and research, said the rights of the education sector employees cannot be encroached upon because of their political beliefs. “If the person, the specialist, correctness and uprightness do not suit them, the simplest decision is to liquidate the post held by this,” stated the ex-minister.
Contacted by IPN, Ștefan Paniș, the head of Florești district, said the decision was taken as a result of broad debates and the post of deputy head instituted at the Agriculture and Food Division wasn’t ‘taken’ from the Education Division. He denied the accusations of political revenge, saying Larisa Novac will be named to another post after the State Chancellery pronounces on the correctness of the taken decisions.
