Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu assured that the floods will not lead to epidemics. “Prophylaxis measures are being taken to prevent possible epidemics,” the minister said in a meeting with flood victims, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The floodwaters recede and leave squalor and awful smell behind. “Many animals and fowls died. We fear an epidemic,” said Maria Vrancean from Cotul Morii village. The most dangerous epidemics in such cases are those of hepatic and acute diarrheal diseases. The Ministry of Health is taking action to prevent disease.
