The State Hydrometeorology Service said that floods are possible in the Prut water meadow in Briceni and Edinet districts following the torrential rain. The level of water in the upper course of the Prut in Ukraine increased considerably, IPN reports.

Weather forecasters issued a yellow code advisory for floods. On May 16-20, the level of water in the Prut, in the sector between Criva village and Costesti town, will continue to grow. The general rise compared with the previous level will be 3-3.5 m.

Heavy rain with thunder and lightning all over Moldova is forecast for next week. Temperatures will rise to 29 degrees Celsius.
