A number of streets in Chisinau were flooded as a result of the heavy rain. Videos and photos of expanding runoff were posted on social media. In a video, two young women are shown being thrown by runoff under the wheels of a car parked at the intersection. They were helped by passersby to get up, IPN reports.
The Byk River overflowed its banks and flooded Albișoara St. Also, Vasile Alecsandri St and Petricani St look like a lake.
Roads in the country were also flooded and are muddied. The lower sections were washed by stones. “We urge you to drive with caution in Puhoi locality of Ialoveni,” urged the General Police Inspectorate.
According to it, the national road that passes through Lăpușna to Pervomaiscoe is flooded. Due to the accumulated water, the entrances to Lărguța and Leca localities are blocked. The police intervened urgently to help the citizens.
In Strășeni, the intersection of R-1 and G-82 roads, the passage under the railways towards Negrești village, is impassable. Also, the entrance to Roșcani is blocked. In Recea village, not far from the church, a bank of earth collapsed.
Due to the heavy rain, water has accumulated in large quantities on R 35 road near Tătărășeni village of Cantemir district. The level of water is over half a meter.
