Flights to Moscow to continue across Ukraine

Flights on the Chisinau-Moscow route will continue following the previous itinerary, across Ukraine’s air space. This fact was decided at the consultations that took place between the State Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova (ASAC) and Ukrainian Aviation Authority in Kiev on February 5. According to ASAC, the consultations tackled the issue of flights on the Chisinau-Kiev route, which are operated by the Ukraine-based “Aerosvit”. It has solicited to make flights on the Kiev-Chisinau route 7 times per week with the "overnight" option. At present it has a single flight per week. In light of the refuse of Moldova’s aviation authorities to accept this situation, explained by the fact that “Aerosvit” had to coordinate all the aspects related to the flights with the Moldova-based air company “TandemAero”, Ukraine threatened to prohibit starting February 6 all flights on Chisinau-Moscow route that cross Ukraine. However, the parties convened at the consultation that the involved Moldovan and Ukrainian companies will settle the flight schedule within two weeks. The delegations of Moldova and Ukraine signed a protocol in this respect.
