A number of flight at the Chisinau International Airport were delayed, while at least five flights were cancelled due to the unfavorable weather conditions, IPN reports.

The planes that were to take off to Bucharest at 5:40am and to Kiev at 7:10am are still held on the ground. The flight to Bucharest will take off with a delay of 40 minutes, at 8:40pm. The 8:30pm flight to Dublin will take off at 9:40 pm.

The 06:55am flight to London, the 09:30am fight to Bucharest, the 09:50am flight to Bologna, the 02:00pm flight to Frankfurt and the 04:00pm flight to Vienna were also cancelled.

Asked by IPN to provide details, Rodica Rusu, press secretary of Avia Invest company that manages the Chisinau International Airport, said the runways are operable. It is the pilots who decide whether to take off or land. Therefore, some of the flights are operated according to schedule, while others are delayed or cancelled.
