The flags on the public institutions are flown at half mast on the day of national mourning for Dumitru Matcovschi. The poet is buried today in his native village Vadul-Rascov of Soldanesti district. Starting at 11.00, the national TV channel Moldova 1 and the national radio station Radio Moldova will broadcast the funeral live, IPN reports.

The national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova included programs in memory of the poet in the schedule. On Radio Moldova, there will be broadcast songs under Matcovschi’s verses.

In a presidential decree, the public authorities, enterprises and organizations are recommended to avoid carrying out recreational activities, while the editorial offices of newspapers, radio stations and TV channels are asked to take into account the specific features of June 29 when editing the publications and forming the programs for this day.

The funeral will be attended by President Nicolae Timofti. At 12.00 noon, the whole country will observe a moment of silence in memory of the poet.
