The fixed Internet access services market in the first three months of this year witnessed growths in terms of the number of subscribers and of revenues earned from the sale of such services, IPN reports, with reference to the national ICT regulator (ANRCETI).
The number of subscribers to such services in the first quarter rose by over 6,000 (+1%) compared with the corresponding period last year, to over 590,000. The sales on this market segment increased by 17.3 million lei (+5.8%), to over 315 million lei.
StarNet reported the highest growth in sales, of 11.5%, to 67.4 million lei. Moldtelecom witnessed a 4.5% increase in sales, to 202.4 million lei. The revenues of Sun Communications decreased by 12.8% to 13.5 million lei. The sales of the other providers increased by 13.2% cumulatively, to over 31.7 million lei. The monthly average revenue per user rose by 1% to 178.8 lei.
The fixed broadband operators had the following market shares by turnover at the end of the first quarter: Moldtelecom – 64.2%, StarNet – 21.4%, Sun Communications – 4.3%, and the other providers – 10.1% together.
