A five-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a holiday resort in Grusevo, Criuleni. The child was resting there together with her mother and other relatives. When the grownups noticed her absence, they started to look for her, but found her only when the body emerged from the water.

Prosecution officer of Criuleni district Mihail Burdila said the ambulance doctors couldn’t save the girl as she was already dead. The circumstances of the case are being examined. It is not yet known if rescuers were at the place or not.

The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents to be prudent and not to leave the children unsupervised, especially when resting near water. This is the third child who drowned since the start of the warm season.
