Five vocational schools will be reorganized
Five vocational schools will be integrated into other education institutions at the start of the 2010-2011 academic year, under a decision made by the Government in its last meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Thus, the Glodeni-based vocational school No. 17 will absorb the vocational school in Ciuciulea village of Glodeni district, the vocational school in Corbu village, Donduseni, will absorb the one in Tarnova village of the same district, wile the vocational school in Marculesti, Floresti, will be merged with the one in Targul Vertiujeni, the same district.
The vocational school No. 4 in Balti municipality will absorb school No. 6, while the vocational school in Cantemir will become part of the vocational school working in Leova.
Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said the reorganizations are aimed at optimizing the secondary vocational education institutions in accordance with the economic recovery and stabilization program for 2009- 2011, the memorandum of economic and financial policies for 2010-2012 agreed with the IMF and the Government's work program.
According to the minister, the schools that will be absorbed do not provide appropriate studying and teaching conditions and do not fulfill the admission plans.
Leonic Bujor said the 230 employees of the five schools, 50% of whom are teachers, will be dismissed in accordance with the Labor Code. “We discussed with the education divisions in these districts and the municipality of Balti and asked them to identify solutions and offer jobs to these persons. I think it will not be a problem as we need teachers. About 25% of the teachers and auxiliary personnel are pensioners, but they will be also provided with jobs if they want to,” the minister said, adding the buildings of the five schools will be used for educational purposes.
