Five persons from the administration of the insurance company ASITO were arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center and prosecutors in the evening of June 30. These are the company’s financial vice director, the chief accountant and three employees of the Legal Service, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Center.

The five were remanded in custody for 72 hours. They are suspected of attempt to appropriate large amounts of the company’s funds and money laundering.

The damage caused to the company is estimated at 9 500 000 lei. The suspects are held at the National Anticorruption Center.
