Five pedestrians injured in road accidents in Chisinau
Five pedestrians, including two minors, have been injured in traffic accidents in Chisinau on October 1. Two of the cars involved in the accidents were taxicabs.
Ion Capatana, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that a nine-year-old girl was struck by a car driven by a woman aged 49 at the intersection of Alba Iulia and Ion Luca Caragiale streets. The girl was returning from school and was walking along the crosswalk. She was taken to “Valentin Ignatenco” Hospital with multiple traumas.
A 44-year-old man was hit by a car on Ismail St. He suffered different bodily injuries. A 1422 taxicab struck a 22-year-old man from Dubasarii-Vechi village of Criuleni district at the intersection of Vadul lui Voda and Mesterul Manole streets. The man sustained injuries.
A car hit a minor aged 17 near the Chisinau Airport, while a 1407 taxi struck a 40-year-old woman on Moscova Blvd.
The 2,260 road accidents that happened in Moldova this year resulted in 271 deaths and 2,260 persons injured.
