Five other people were identified in an ongoing investigation into what is believed to have been preparations for mass disturbances during an anti-government rally in March. According to prosecutors, the identified men are aged between 21 and 75 and come from Balti and Sangerei. The new suspects are believed to have ties to the seven ones already accused in April.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) said in a press release that the suspects are cooperating with investigation.
The announcement comes following searches conducted on Thursday. As a result, knives of various models, an air pistol, written records and cash in lei and euros were seized.
Prosecutors said the investigation continues, suggesting more suspects could be identified in the future.
