Five more sanitary posts in Transnistrian region removed

Eleven sanitary posts remained now in the Transnistrian region after five such posts were removed  on July 27, the leader of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselskym stated in a meeting with President Igor Dodon at the Residence in Condrița, IPN reports.

“These posts are used not to hinder the people from moving on a particular territory, but to prevent the uncontrollable spread of the infection with the novel coronavirus. There is a problem: we all face this this problem, the whole world faces it. In principle, the problem hasn’t been solved yet. When the number of infections decreases, these posts will be eliminated,” said Krasnoselsky, being quoted in a press release of the Transnistrian administration.

According to the presidential press service in Chisinau, the interlocutors discussed in detail the implementation of the “Berlin-Plus” package. They also exchanged opinions about the problems that appeared during the past few months following the spread of COVID-19. Among other subjects discussed were the removal of the sanitary posts in the Security Zone and actions to ensure the free movement and to defend the human rights and freedoms.

Special attention was devoted to the preparation of the resumption of the education process on September 1. “We reached particular agreements as to the promotion of telecommunications, criminal cases and banking problems. We support the international partners’ initiative to set up a Bender–Varnița trolleybus line in the shortest period of time, this being a new project to ensue free movement and build confidence,” said President Igor Dodon. “Together with the interaction at official level, the activity of public organizations on both banks of the Nistru is an important factor that contributes to promoting the political settlement process.”

The sides reiterated the importance of the peacekeeping operation on the Nistru as a guarantor of peace and security of the citizens and agreed to take common steps not to allow the worsening of the situation in the Security Zone, which would undermine peace and stability all over Moldova.

This was the seventh meeting of Igor Dodon and Vadim Krasnoselsky.
