Five sportspersons from Moldova will contend in the fourth edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games that will be held in Gangwon, South Korea, from January 19 to February 1, 2024, IPN reports.
These are Vladislav Maistrov, Arina Rusu and Dinu Belevac (all biathlon), and Emilia Sainciuc and Mihail Carpov (both cross-country skiing). They will be guided by coaches Nadezhda Bria and Sveatoslav Maliutin.
According to the National Olympic and Sports Committee, the Gangwon 2024 competitions will take place at several arenas that also hosted the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang.
The games were scheduled to be held at four locations: Gangneung - for ice sports, PyeongChang - for Nordic and sliding events, Jeongseon High 1 - for alpine skiing and tandem cross-country skiing, and Hoengseon - for freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
The 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympic Games will involve 1,900 athletes who will compete in seven types of sports.
