Five injured in traffic accidents on Friday
Five persons, including a minor, were injured in four accidents recorded on Chisinau roads on Friday.
Inspector Ion Roscovanu of the Chisinau Traffic Police has told Info-Prim Neo that all four accidents occurred in the evening, between 5:00 and 22:00 pm. The first one involved a teenage boy, 15, who was struck on Ion Creanga Street by a VAZ car driven by a 60-year-old man. Suffering brain concussion, the boy was admitted to “Valentin Ignatenco” Hospital for treatment.
Inspector Roscovanu urges the children who are now on vacation to be more careful when crossing the streets and avoid riding bicycles on public roads if they haven’t reached the age of 14. Skateboarders and roller skaters are also urged to stay away from roads and busy sidewalks. At the same time, the Inspector calls on drivers to be increasingly watchful in the period of the school vacation.
Over the past day, there were also recorded 19 minor traffic accidents in which no one was hurt. Traffic agents issued 417 tickets, including 86 for dangerous manoeuvring, 22 for ignoring traffic lights, 22 for driving unbuckled, and 61 for jaywalking.
