Five injured in Chisinau road accident

Five persons were injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Saturday night in downtown Chisinau. Eufalia Negreata, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that shortly before midnight a Mercedes minibus on route 127 collided with a taxi cab operated by the 1444 firm at the juncture of the streets Eminescu and Sciusev. As a result, five female passengers with ages ranging from 16 to 22 years required hospital treatment. A man, 58, was found dead on Sunday in a copicce near a Metro outlet. The man didn't bear signs indicating a violent death. It is supposed he died because of a heart failure. A 30-year-old man cut his veins while drunk, but survived, thanks to the prompt response by an emergency crew. Another woman, also aged 30 and also drunk, attempted suicide by taking an overdose of pills. She has been admitted to the Holy Trinity Hospital for detox. Over the past day and night, the Chisinau Emergency Service recorded 657 calls, involving 77 cases of trauma, 41 cases of acute viral diseases, 6 cases of mumps, and 4 brain strokes.
